UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Dec. 2 — Special unit Bilyi Yangol (“White angel” from Ukrainian) evacuated a 39-year-old woman with her 16-year-old daughter and 10-year-old son from the Velykyi Burluk community, said the Kharkiv regional police.

The family took only the most necessary items. The police also evacuated the family’s pet cat, nicknamed Funtyk.

The woman said that their cat is a part of the family and they simply couldn’t leave the animal.

Since the beginning of October, Ukrainian war monitoring group DeepState has recorded Russian advances east of the Velykyi Burluk near Ambarne and Odradne villages.

On Dec. 1, DeepState reported about Russian advances near the Dvorichanske settlement, which is located 25 kilometers (16 miles) from Velykyi Burluk.
