UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Sep. 22 — On Sep. 21, a senior lieutenant of the Defence Forces with a call sign Alex said that a large area of Kharkiv oblast is under control of Russian drones, threatening the logistics of Ukrainian forces.
Alex pointed to the part of the region located between the districts of the Vovchansk, north of Kharkiv oblast, and Kupiansk, northeast of the region, which creates a “pocket,” complicating the operations of Ukrainian forces in this area.
“Yesterday (On Sep. 20 — ed.), a Russian attack drone hit the car on the dam of the Pechenihy reservoir, which is located 45 kilometers (28 miles) from the frontline north of Kharkiv and the Kupiansk axis,” said Alex.
Alex said that the situation could become worse if Russia increases production of its attack drones, or if the Ukrainian side ignores the danger.
“Elite units of Russian drone operators work near Vovchansk at a distance of 20-25 (12-16 miles) kilometers from the frontline for a year. So, the logistic situation there looks the same as the latest situation in Izium to Sloviansk highway.”
At the beginning of September, Russian troops started attacking the Izium-Sloviansk highway. Locals said that they had to go on this section of this road as fast as possible to avoid getting shelled by Russian drones.
Gwara Media figured out how Russians manage to strike and what threats drone control poses to the Izium-Sloviansk highway.
