UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Dec. 10 — Kharkiv companies are among the most damaged businesses in frontline regions, for which Ukrainian courts are ruling on compensation for war damages, reported OpenDataBot, a company that provides access to the registration data of Ukrainian companies and the court register.

According to analysts, since the start of the full-scale invasion, Ukrainian courts have issued 311 orders on the recovery of damages from Russia in favor of companies from frontline regions. The total amount of compensation awarded exceeds 386 billion hryvnia.

In the Kharkiv region 29 such court rulings have been made. In terms of number, the region follows Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Mykolaiv regions.

According to analysts, courts are considering more and more business claims every year. While there were only five compensation decisions in 2022, their number increased tenfold in 2023. The absolute peak came in 2024, when the amount of compensation awarded reached over 297 billion hryvnias. This year, courts have already issued court rulings worth 11 billion hryvnias.

At the end of November, the government adopted Resolution No. 1541, which provides for up to UAH 10 million in compensation to businesses in high-risk areas for property damaged or destroyed as a result of attacks.

In the frontline regions, 79 current court decisions amounting to over UAH 241 million fall under these criteria.
