UKRAINE, KUPIANSK DISTRICT, Jul 2 — Geolocation footage indicates that Russian troops advanced west and northwest of Ivanivka, a village east of Kupiansk, reported the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) in their June 30 assessment. Ukraine’s military denied the advance.

“We don’t have any updates on Ivanivka,” said Viktor Trehubov, the spokesman for operation-strategic military grouping “Khortytsia” to Gwara Media’s journalists on July 1.

According to official data published by the “Khortytsia” grouping, Russian troops conducted six assaults on the Kupiansk axis in the directions of Radkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, and Novoosynove.

Buildings in Kupiansk — a logistic railway hub for the east of Ukraine — have been destroyed or damaged by 95% due to incessant Russian attacks with glide bombs, drones, and other weaponry.

Russia has been actively trying to reoccupy the city since September 2024 — recently, according to the OSINT analysts, their advance put them at 1-2 km away from the outskirts of the city.
