UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, May 7 — Russian forces advanced in the Kupiansk direction, but this advance is likely dates back to late March or early April, reported the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) in their May 6 assessment.
The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said that Russia conducted 11 assaults on both axes in Kharkiv Oblast over the past day.
ISW reports that, on the Kupiansk axis, geolocated footage published on May 5 indicates that Russian forces “advanced in the fields west of Kyslivka,” the village southeast of Kupiansk.
Russian forces attacked east of Kupiansk near Petropavlivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Hlushkivka, and toward Novoosynove villages on May 5 and 6.
Russia also continued offensive operations near Borova settlement on May 6 but did not advance.
In Kharkiv direction, Ukrainian forces repelled Russian attempts to advance eight times near Vovchansk and Vovchanski Khutory.
On May 6, Russia attacked Kharkiv with 20 drones, injuring four civilians and damaging houses, a restaurant, and one of the largest markets of Ukraine “Barabashovo.”
