Mar 20 — German industrial consortium headed by Vollert Anlagenbau GmbH will build at least two manufacturing plants that will produce constructions from reinforced concrete in Ukraine, reports RBK-Ukraine referring to the company’s message. Kharkiv will be one of the first cities to receive investments. It’s reported that Vollert is already planning negotiations with Ihor Terekhov about launching the first plant.
Kharkiv is Ukraine’s second-largest city, located about 20 miles from the Russian border. Russian troops attack it often with drones, missiles, and glide bombs, targeting civilian and critical infrastructure.
Vollert reported that the first investment will amount to 5 billion hryvnias (~$120,4 million), and the enterprise will launch as the largest producer of reinforced concrete in Europe.
The plant’s goal is to cover 1 million square meters of construction work per year, with a yearly capacity for production of 450,000 square meters.
The project is realized under the guarantees of the insurance company Euler Hermes and is financed by a consortium of European banks.
