UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, May 29 — On May 28, Russians attacked 12 times in Kharkiv Oblast, reported the General Staff.
Earlier this month, Moscow threatened to occupy the Kharkiv and Sumy regions if Ukraine did not withdraw its troops from four regions — Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson — that the Kremlin claims as part of Russia.
On May 28, the General Staff reported about four attacks on the Kharkiv axis near Starytsia, Vovchansk, and Krasne Pershe.
On the Kupiansk axis, Russian troops attacked eight times near Zahryzove and Zelenyi Hai.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian president, confirmed the Russian attempt to mass 50,000 Russian personnel on the Sumy axis.
At the same time, foreign media suggested that the Russians were also gathering forces to attack Kharkiv city. The Ukrainian military operating in the region denied this information, saying that this group of troops primarily threatens borderlands and doesn’t have enough power to seize Kharkiv.
Over the past day, Russian forces attacked nine settlements in Kharkiv Oblast, said Oleh Syniehubov, governor of the region. There were no casualties.
