UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Jul 8 — France conducts 19 rebuilding projects along with Ukrainian companies using the €200 million fund, given by the French government, said Gaël Veyssière, French ambassador to Ukraine, to Gwara Media’s journalist on July 7.

Veyssière added that French Prime Minister François Bayrou decided to create another fund next year that will be financed by the French government, Ukrainian businesses, and some international banks.

Earlier, Energy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko reported that €60 million from this fund went to support the energy sector in Kharkiv, Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhzhia, and other regions to, among other things, modernize legacy infrastructure and restore the objects damaged by Russian aggression.

Veyssière said that the unity regarding Ukraine within the EU got “impressive” after Donald Trump took office. France, he said, “continues to work on sanctions” and other ways to support Ukraine despite “difficult cases, in particular Hungary, as far as accession (to the EU) or sanctions are concerned.”

“It’s very important to maintain this high degree of unity. I think, maybe because of the new attitude of the new US administration, Europe has to rise up to the challenge and invest more in defense and be more determined in supporting Ukraine,” Veyssière said to journalists.
