UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Jan. 6 — On Jan. 5, Russian forces attacked one of the energy objects in Kharkiv with five rockets from Tornado-S multiple rocket launcher system, said Oleh Syniehubov, the governor of the Kharkiv region.

Syniehubov said that the Russian attack on Kharkiv injured a 58-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman.

Kharkivoblenergo, a municipal energy company, said that emergency power outages have been implemented in the Kharkiv oblast. Scheduled hourly power outages introduced in autumn 2025 following Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, continues  to operate.

Over the past day, Russian forces attacked four settlements of the region with one Geran-2 and one Molniya drone and four drones of an unidentified type.

In the Velykyi Burluk settlement, Russian attacks destroyed a house, reported the Kharkiv regional police.

Also, a Russian drone attacked the Staryi Saltiv community. No casualties were reported.
