RUSSIA, VOLOGDA OBLAST, Apr. 13 — On the afternoon of Apr. 13, a drone attack on Cherepovets in Vologda oblast, Russia, damaged ammonia production of the Cherepovets-Azot plant, reported the analysts from the CyberBoroshno OSINT group.

“According to information from the Russian Ministry of Defense, 13 drones were shot down as they approached the industrial site in Cherepovets. Emergency services specialists are working at the sites where debris fell,” said Vologda Oblast governor Georgy Filimonov.

CyberBoroshno analyzed the video of the attack, shared on social media, and said that black smoke rose from two of the three ammonia workshops (Ammonia-1, marked in yellow, and Ammonia-2, marked in blue, on the screenshot), which have a combined capacity of 900,000 tons per year.

OSINTers also said about a possible strike on an ammonia storage facility (marked in red), which had been additionally protected with a special metal structure after the start of the full-scale invasion to guard against drone attacks.

The attacked plant accounts for around 6% of Russia’s ammonia production, while the plant as a whole produces about 10% of the country’s total ammonia output, CyberBoroshno said. Ukraine hasn’t officially commented on the attack.

On Mar. 10, Ukrainian forces struck the Kremniy El microelectronics factory in Russian Bryansk with Storm Shadow air-launched missiles.
